We dig into the earth, revealing layers in our past, assuming we were but the only ones.
Who understood the science that we held within our hands, its all been done before yet here we stand.

( you take ) from all that`s good and you`ve used it as you pleased.

( the earth ) will still be here when we turn into the mist and blow away.

( Narrator ) We had gone deeper than any previous archaeological dig before us,
and yet we were totally unprepared when we pierced its shell.
We had no idea what we had when we found it, but then again,
no one had ever seen the face of god.


5000 years and we still haven`t learned from the errors we`ve made in the past.
We struggle to find out the meaning to life everlasting of which we were cast,
and we sigh.
And the low hanging fruit that we picked from the grave shows we`ve done this all
time and again.
And the cycle repeats as our knowledge exceeds understanding our means to an end,
and we cry.
