5000 Years 06:05
We dig into the earth, revealing layers in our past, assuming we were but the only ones. Who understood the science that we held within our hands, its all been done before yet here we stand. ( you reach ) to have control over everything you see. ( you take ) from all that`s good and you`ve used it as you pleased. ( your time ) is growing thin like the promises you`ve made. ( the earth ) will still be here when we turn into the mist and blow away. ( Narrator ) We had gone deeper than any previous archaeological dig before us, and yet we were totally unprepared when we pierced its shell. We had no idea what we had when we found it, but then again, no one had ever seen the face of god. 5000 years and we still haven`t learned from the errors we`ve made in the past. We struggle to find out the meaning to life everlasting of which we were cast, and we sigh. And the low hanging fruit that we picked from the grave shows we`ve done this all time and again. And the cycle repeats as our knowledge exceeds understanding our means to an end, and we cry.

Wrapped in the cloth of perception led by the moon. Gravity serves as direction for cowards and fools. The weight of your soul and the lies that were told have no meaning for those without sight. Everyone`s searching for truth in the answer but no one can see the light. Guided by whispering voices that no one can hear. Schooled in the art of deception and driven by fear. Political tides and the waves that you ride were all planned for you long ago. Centuries pass and the ones with the power are still here and running the show.

Well they slapped you into taking your first deep breath. And the primed you for a life of toil until your death. And they told you you'd do well, if you`d conform and compromise, Now the light that used to shine is gone, there's darkness in your eyes. And they slapped a watch upon your wrist, so they could take your time. And they fed you just enough to keep starvation on your mind. And they told you you'd do well, if you'd relent and step aside, cause the light that used to shine inside your eyes has gone and died. Well they let you think that you were free while underneath their thumbs, cause the rules applied to those indentured serve to keep you numb. All the dreams you have are now implanted so we can be as one, and deny we were once the children who were searching for the sun, cause the light that used to shine is gone and left as no surprise.
4.
So you severed the chains that were holding the hammer, counted the blows that recorded your pain, but the contract they wrote for your rung on the ladder, was signed with your blood in exchange for your name, oh no, oh no. Now you run for your life and the wall`s coming closer, just one leap of faith and you`ll wake from this dream, and leave all behind the anger that binds us, to the ones who are really there pulling the strings, oh no, oh no. Never you dreamt upon your waking moments that you`d find the strength inside yourself to make the choice to fight or flee and learn to fly away. Long ago you made a promise to yourself and to the ones who love you that you`d hold a light and shine on what is not and what is real.

No golden timepiece in my hand, to count the hours by the sand, and contemplate the things that slipped between. The cracks in time we made in haste, that laid tomorrow`s plans to waste. a life spent chasing someone else`s dream. Oh lord, what have I done to deserve such a fate. Of mice and men, and best laid plans, I threw the hammer from my hands, and watched it all dissolve and fall away. But the golden timepiece that was promised never showed its hands, and the face of time turned blank and walked away. Oh lord, what have I done to deserve such a fate. Oh tell me, have I overlooked the signs and its too late.

Linear Skies 04:06
Look up and tell me if you see what I see, something has changed and it's hard to deny. Gone is the sun in the sky and the blue has all faded to grey, and the planes they still fly. Burdened by science and blinded by politics, kept in the dark by a white trail of lies. Whispering under their breath that you're crazy, and dead in their sights are the lines in the sky. Everyone knows what they see with their eyes, but don't ask the questions and you'll hear no lies. Look up and tell me if you can remember, the sky was so clear and your eyes were so bright. Now all the clouds are a linear nightmare, poisoning the air that we need to survive. Bending the laws that define us by nature, an arrogant plan to deceive and deny, hidden by volumes of disinformation, hedging a bet that we'll pay with our lives. They`ll try to tell you it's for your own good, but its hard to believe when they lie, to your face when you see all the damage they've done, still nobody speaks of the lines in the sky.

Something in your eyes tell me you're looking for more than a friend. I beleive that you've misread the signals that I've never sent. Circumstances changing daily shape the journey on our ride, misdirection, slight of hand that we can't hide. Was it something that you said or something I needed to see. All the faces that we wear are only who we want to be. So I smile and put my face on, you respond in kind to me, signals crossing, disregarding what we see. As we hold the answers to the questions that we'll never ask. Surface tension builds and breaks revealing the scars of our past. You can fly, or you can get by scraping up against the grain, or you can strap in and enjoy the ride

You were caught in the crossfire, held by the barbed wire of faith. You were blind with ambition, robed in tradition and ran to the alter in haste, but your acts of omission defy your contrition and leave you more wanting the taste, of the power and glory, to tell your own story, ingesting the sins that you ate. ( Come let us pray for you, we are afraid for you. Come let us pray for you, our words were made for you.) Come let us pray for you, we cannot help anyone who would think for themself. This could be dangerous, if you renounce all we've told you, then you'll go to hell! Come let us shame you until you are healed, and our will is as one and you feel what we feel.

U.A.V. 04:32
50,000 feet, just a game when you're looking down. Joystick in my hand, though my feet have never left the ground. It's nothing personal, just another suspect to be found. Your name appeared upon a list that caught my eye. Now I've got you squared up in my sights, and I'm flying the friendly skies. We see. What's there. Behind. The door. We see. You there. Behind. Your door. Somewhere else far off in the distance, it's just another day. I put my headset on, light the console, another game to play. I light em up and take them down, five pm I'm heading homeward bound. Another world away somebody lost the game, so we'll call it a night and tomorrow we can do it all again.

Live it Now 03:51
What would you do if you knew that tomorrow would be your last day, would you live any different, would you change your ways, would try to do something you never have done, would you try to fill the empty space. What would you lose if you lived in the moment and captured the essence of time in your hand, would you be waiting for someone to guide you, or would you move forward and find all the love you can, live it now. What would you do if you only had time to relive one more day from your past would you let it all slip away. It slipped away. Live it Now! Live it Now! Live it Now!

about

Faint Signal Cincinnati, Ohio

Faint Signal began in 2011 as a result of a craigslist post when Henri Eisenbaum replied to Randy Campbell's post asking "Is Prog Rock dead in Cincinnati?" Both multi-instrumentalists, they clicked immediately and began the quest of re-igniting the Prog Rock flames to become the only original Prog Rock band in Cincinnati Ohio ... more
